Dr. Garfield McCook is a real estate professional, musician, and owner of Stilesboro Personal Care Home. After starting the annual Jamaica International Independence Foreign Song Competition, he now brings his talents to the board of JMCC.

Citizen of the USA, born in Jamaica, migrated to the USA 35 years ago. Lived in New York/New Jersey for 14 years. Acted as the Innkeeper in Fiddler on the Roof at Jersey City State University. Gained a BSC in 1995 from Jersey City State University. Married for 31 years to Andrea McCook, a Registered Nurse at Grady Hospital. We have two sons Gavin and Andrew.

Moved to GA 21 years ago. He has been in the Real Estate Industry for 21 years and a Real Estate Broker/Owner of Georgia Dream Homes Realty for 16 years. 

He is owner of a ten bedroom Personal Care Home, Stilesboro Personal Care Home, located in Kennesaw. Caring for our elderly is his Ministry of giving back to our community. The Residents become part of our family.

Dr. McCook is a composer, singer, and performer  delving into the Music Industry under the name “Gary G” with Reggae single, “Rio Was good To Me”. In 2018, he traveled to China to record my second Song, “A Lang Time Missa Chin A Run tings,” another Reggae Song, “CELLELLA” which speaks to our infatuation with Cell Phones. The year 2020 I recorded “Gimme Jamaica”. In 2021, I embarked on a big venture to start the annual Jamaica International Independence Foreign Song Competition. This competition is held on the last Saturday in July, during our Jamaican Independence celebrations. The competition is exclusively for Jamaican Artists or Artists of Jamaican descent residing in the diaspora.

As Director of Strategic Planning, his business acumen and knowledge of community building is critical to the success of the Jamaican Museum and Cultural Center.
